So just something I "made"

So just something I "made"

Galaxian (NES) has a hidden "sound test", which is very... convulted to access (it requires resetting the system over 45 times, and another 45 to change tracks) as well as holding the A+B button on P2 and all kinds of other shit.

If you didn't know any better, you might assume it's just some glitch.

Soon after I first discovered it, I fired up FCEUX and created a disassembly of it, changing things, removing dead code, and so on and so forth. That's been going on for a few days, on and off (mostly off).

This is my first adventure into 6502 outside of changing INC to DEC (cough).

ROM

Everything Galaxian-related aside from a majority of the code and the music has been stripped out or changed, and the music isn't original anyway, so...

I plan on working on this some more. Maybe turning it into some sort of beginner's music playtoy or something :P

Use: Reset changes tracks. That's about it really. The numbers should be fairly self explanatory if look closely enough.

lol http://forum.emu-russia.net/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=584 ;) I was first ;)))

In addition, cheat may be triggered by pressing 10 times RESET and 4 times shouting to mic on controller two. ;)

Here english explanation: http://cah4e3.shedevr.org.ru/cheatsbase.php#562 ;) Sorry

Congratulations CaH4e3, your site has successfully killed Firefox, and rendered it unable to show the usual Javascript unresponsive script warning.

I doubt you were the first. I'm not saying I am (far from it), but this is from 2007. So, no, you weren't ;)

Although, I will say that by "found" I meant found out about it, not discovered.

So much for being on-topic.

Dwedit, lol, IE7/8 renders fine. ;) Firefox just too slow for so much java on one page. ;)

That makes no sense. IE is never faster than Firefox. You probably have a bug somewhere that IE doesn't care about. And JavaScript is not Java (I realize some people are just shortening the name, but that can be confusing when there is another language that goes by the shortened name). BTW, I had no problems opening the page in Firefox.

Actually me too. Just tested it.

It's killing 3.1 beta 3, and Minefield. It's not the Javascript, it's the HTML itself.
Older versions probably work fine.
I'm taking this to Bugzilla.

Edit: The bug happens on any page with lots and lots of unnamed checkboxes. already got marked as Resolved Duplicate.

Another one bug in mozilla lol
Actually, all my checkboxes are named.

IE LOVER!!! Seriously, I don't know how anyone can use that sad, slow excuse for a browser. Do you want a cup of cofee while you wait for your new tab to load?

Sorry for being off topic, I was just a bit angry... Please carry on.

by on (#45600)
lol, so the last offtopic I think (this story is never ending)
[offtopic]
I'm pissed of of my mozilla when it takes about 10 seconds for start, 3-4 ceconds for opening new tab. I know for present day I have only 1Gb or RAM lol, that is SOOOOO few. But IE doind the same work for me much faster. I don't trust most people saying that something is faster just now lol. ;)

somebody close this sad, pathetic excuse for a thread

The topic has degenerated into web browser flame wars.
