FDS-NES problems - Part 2

FDS-NES problems - Part 2
by on (#42734)
I am having one last gripe: How does the ''Side B/A'' code work? I am making a hack of Roger Rabbit (FDS version of Bugs Bunny Crazy Castle) called ''Hebereke's Crazy Castle'' a new hack for GameBoy/NES(MMC5), although cheesier than ''SoreIke! Kid'' for GameBoy

The GB version has unused music from the NES version. So LD, A = opcode 3Eh = 6502 opcode LDA ($A9)

That was a little simple. Isn't it? It sure is a NES conversion with rendering modding and screen fitting. And I also found that the text is in ASCII unlike the NES.

Why don't you just hack the cartridge version? It's exactly the same, aside from the graphics.

The only problem have with BBCC is the missing part in the ending (Rescue Jessica) to include in my version,

It's pretty simple. The game tells the FDS bios, I want X file from X disk. So the system checks the disk and each side has a header telling which side of the disk it is, A or B. If that fails it tells you to switch sides. When the correct disk is inserted it loads the requested file. That's all there is to it. Read the FDS doc by Brad Taylor I believe it is. If you can't do it after that, forget about it.
